What We Have Done So Far

When we were first established in 2020, we spent time improving the lives of impoverished children in India through providing educational resources, transport to school, school attendance fees, school uniform, and meals throughout their time at school. However, we are now solely based in London where we are working with disadvantaged and marginalised children to provide fair and equal access to developmental, vocational, and extra curricular support, where they may not have otherwise had the financial or social means to access this like other more privileged children in socety would. 1

After School Clubs

We are currently running stimulating sports clubs (football and basketball), arts and crafts for mental health, and maths and grammar after school clubs to our partnering schools’ students within the London boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham, Southwark, Islington, Westminster, City of London, Ealing, and Hounslow, with long-term benefits. Our activities take place during out-of-school hours and school holidays.

2

Fundraising Events

We have also completed two successful fundraising events, in order to raise funds to support our hands on projects with children. One of these events took place in November 2021, and the second in May 2023. You can see and read more about these over on our Instagram – @HeritageCharityLondon

Community Walks and Picnics

During the spring and summer of 2023, we organised and implemented weekly Saturday walks, which aimed to promote and encourage walking as both a form of transport and exercise. We took children and their families on beautiful woodland walks, alongside peaceful canals, before stopping for a healthy picnic in a local park. We are continuing these walks into the academic year of 2023/2024.

Healthy Cooking Lessons

During Christmas 2022 and the beginning of 2023, we organised healthy cooking lessons as a response to the cost of living crisis. These aimed to educate families on not only the importance of healthy eating, but also how this can be done on a lower budget with little skill at home. These were delivered in partnership with Hiba Express, a Palestinian and Lebanese restaurant in High Holborn. We are set to continue these workshops since they are highly beneficial for healthy eating and budgeting at the same time.
